About Us

Thermoplastics Ltd. is a Maltese-owned company based in Malta, with a sister company in Tunisia, that has expanded rapidly since its formation in 1996. From modest beginnings, the company now employs over 250 people in Malta and Tunisia, and successfully supplies products to local and foreign customers in the toys, automotive, smart technologies and construction sectors. The Group also owns Aerotechnik Ltd., a Malta-based company that specialises in the design of moulds and manufacture of components in carbon fibre.

The Group of Companies is wholly owned by Mr. Kenneth Carauna, the Managing Director who is an experienced toolmaker and aviation engineer in his own right. The Company has invested heavily in state-of-the-art plants and machinery and plans to continue to expand with investments being made in new facilities for both Malta and Tunisia.

The Thermoplastics Group works on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week, and is always committed to meeting its customers’
stringent demands.

Meet the Team

Kenneth Caruana
Managing Director & CEO

Kenneth Caruana is the founder and Managing Director of Thermoplastics Ltd. A tool maker with over 30 years experience as well as a qualified aviation engineer. Kenneth started the company in 1996 and never looked back. The company has grown from strength to strength over the past 27 years to include Thermoplastics Ltd., Thermoplastics Tunisia, Aerotechnik Ltd., and two joint venture partnerships: Sandhill Ltd. and 2KR Designs Ltd.

Mark Spiteri

COO

Mark Spiteri is the COO of Thermoplastics Group. He is a qualified chemical and quality engineer and has spent more than 30 years in manufacturing, with experience in injection moulding, aviation, and the food industry. Mark has worked for over 10 years in various countries such as China, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Mary Grace Caruana

Head of Operations

Mary Grace Caruana has been with the company since its inception. With over 25 years of experience in injection moulding, printing and decoration, assembly, and all other aspects of the day-to-day running of the business. She is the driving force behind the operations team at Thermoplastics Ltd.

Abdelaziz Mohamed

Supply Chain Manager

Abdelaziz Mohamed is our Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for handling all of our import and export requirements. His professional, customer-friendly approach will ensure that we can meet and tackle any challenges and requirements for projects entrusted to Thermoplastics Ltd.

Shanaia Agius

Accounts Executive

Shanaia Agius, our youngest team member, has been working with Thermoplastics for over 3 years as an Accounts Executive. Her career goal is that of becoming a qualified accountant and to further her knowledge in this sector, she is currently studying for her ACCA.

Jessica Caruana

HR & Quality Lead

Jessica Caruana is a qualified engineer. She leads the quality and HR department of the group and is also responsible for our quality and environmental systems which are certified ISO 19001 and ISO 14001.

Wissem Nacef

Operations Manager Tunisia

Wissem Nacef joined the Thermoplastics Tunisia team in 2014. He is the operations manager at our factory in Zaghouan. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all departments that include administration, production, engineering, quality and logistics.

The Group is committed to ensure environmental ‘best practice’ in line with the requirements of ISO14001:2015. The Group has an established network of companies it works with, including specialist mould design companies and raw materials procurement.

Thermoplastics Malta

Thermoplastics Ltd. based in Malta is the flagship company of the Thermoplastics Group. Its main focus is injection moulding, decoration, assembly and packaging of plastic products. With the network developed over the 25 years of its operation, Thermoplastics can source almost any material, develop moulds and take a project from inception to full scale production with a dedicated team that will ensure quality, on-time delivery.

Thermoplastics Tunisia

Located in the region of Zaghouan, Thermoplastics Tunisia has its own tool room, with 35 injection moulding machines, a spray painting department, pre-pack and assembly facilities as well as pad printing and decoration. The company has the advantage of offering international standards of production coupled with the competitiveness of the North African region.

Aerotechnik

Aerotechnik is a small but very flexible company capable of creating custom moulds and manufacturing carbon fibre products for a variety of projects. We have worked on windmill blades, bicycle frames, horse sulky construction and repairs, steering wheels, side mirror housings and motorbike kits. The manual nature of this work means that any size project is possible.
